Michael Kruger - John Septimus Roe Anglican Community School Lay Clerk
Melbourne-born tenor Michael Kruger was born to a musical family and started learning the violin at the age of four. Piano, French horn, saxophone, and vocal studies followed during his school years, culminating in discovering a love of church music at St George’s Cathedral under Simon Lawford.
Upon graduating as an engineer, Michael spent several years in London as a CTO, regularly singing at church services throughout the city and particularly at Southwark Cathedral. This period included touring with choirs to France, Spain, Italy, and Ireland.
Michael returned to Perth in 2007 to raise a family, start a software company, and eventually join the musical team at Christ Church Claremont. 2016 marks the 27th year since Michael starting singing in liturgical settings.
